So, this evening started my first venture into yoga teacher training land. I was a little skeptical and intimidated initially, since I have only been practicing for 8 months. But, Erica and Jacque are awesome teachers and the rest of the students in the class are really nice, and they are just "regular people."
I know some of you are skeptical about trying out yoga. Usually there is always an excuse: "I am not flexible. I am too over-weight. I am too tall. I am too short. I don't have time. I'll never be able to do that. etc, etc, etc." But the reality is, there is no really good excuse to not try out yoga. There are modifications for practically every ailment, injury, or other problem. And you can do as little as 15 minutes a day to benefit from yoga. It makes your body feel lighter, your head feel clearer, and it helps rehabilitate various injuries, aches and pains. Although, if you don't practice or learn from a qualified instructor, and are not sure about proper alignment, yoga can also be the cause of injuries, aches, and pains. That's why it is important to know your own body. Knowing your body's limits will save you from many injuries in the end. To be continued, I'm sure :-)
